Minutes for 3.27.09 Executive Board Meeting

1.1. Discussing a potential speaker for our next event:
1.2. Grad student by the name of Kevin
1.3. Next official event will be 4.17
1.4. From now on, official events will always be held on the third Friday of each month.
1.5. Having the non-student presenter run by with the officers beforehand so that we can get an idea as to what he will present.
1.6. Elections next semester (tentative…)
1.7. Open call for paper submission.
1.8. direction of the club:
1.9. Consider recruiting new officers.
1.10. Officers meeting twice a week.
1.11. Use the wordpress site more frequently rather than e-mail… the website needs to be more active.
1.12. Erica will post a topic to discuss by the weekend on WordPress site.
1.13. Students who wish to present their paper for the next event will e-mail josh the paper. We will then pick several topics and vote on which topic the group wants to hear about.
1.14. For our next Friday meeting, we will talk about a topic Erica proposed: (Change something…)
1.15. Potentially starting philosophy journals for next semester… figure out how to set it up: Ask grad students and professors for help.
1.16. Get professors to come in and talk on the Friday informal meetings
– The professor will become like a peer… he will be a part of the discussion rather than lecturing. They will frame the philosophical problems and guide the discussions.
